The Carlton D. Stevenson Band Scholarship

This scholarship, is made available from proceeds of The Annual Carlton D. Stevenson Charity Golf Tournament. The tournament was created to celebrate his love of golf, family, friends, and the love of his community. Although the military took him all across the country, no place was more important to him than his home town, Rocky Mount, North Carolina, or as he affectionately called home, “the Mount”. It is with great pride and affection that this scholarship is annually awarded to a Rocky Mount High School Band graduating senior!

SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA:

The applicant must be a current 12th grade student at Rocky Mount High School planning to graduate in May/June. The applicant must have been a member of the Rocky Mount High School Band program for at least 2 years playing an instrument.
The applicant must hold a WGPA of 2.0 or better.
The applicant will enter a postsecondary institution in the fall semester immediately after graduating.
The applicant must demonstrate leadership, dedication and artistic craftsmanship qualities (Indicated by the signature of the present Band Director).
The applicant must submit a 250-word essay describing what being awarded the scholarship will mean to them and how it will be used.
The applicant will attach an official current transcript including 1st semester grades of applicant’s senior year.
The completed application must be delivered to Mr. Curtis in Student Services.
